Hear P!ink's Fiery New Anthem "What About Us"

P!nk has time and time again proven to be the singer who can deliver crossed genre music while still gaining fans from both old and young listeners.

Her brand new single, “What About Us”, once again delivers the message that comes with all of Pink’s music, one of uniqueness and individuality in a world of conformity. The song begins with piano chords along with her strong voice reaching out from your speakers. As the song continues, a theme of unity and pride is evident, and you begin to realize that this is an anthem for LGBTQ people. With lyrics such as “We are billions of beautiful hearts/And your sold us down the river too far” and “What about us?/What about all the times you said you had the answers?” a deeper meaning begins to arise.

With every word sung, you begin to see the plan that P!nk had. A rebellion against some type of higher power that has seemingly ignored a group of people based just on their sexuality. As she explores this, the chorus comes into a dance floor beat with drums joining the piano behind P!nk’s voice and her own range extending further. Listening to this, your heart seems to burst with pride and emotion and the feeling of rallying for something bigger than yourself, with P!nk as your leader.

Following a five year break after her 2012 “The Truth About Love,” album Pink has seemingly not lost the same spark that has embraced her beautiful music nearly two decades after the start of her career. With a new EP titled “Beautiful Trauma” debuting on October 13th, we hope to hear more and more coming from one of the seemingly best artists of our generation.

Happy Jamming!
