Watch St. Vincent's Colorful New Video for Power Ballad "New York"

"New York", the beautiful power ballad and lead single off of St. Vincent's new album, is given an iconic video. Directed by Alex Da Corte, St. Vincent is placed in a landscape of color that evokes some of the high fashion that New York is famous for. The video can be quite off at times with multiple panning shots of someone's butt and St. Vincent dancing in front of a burning plant that doesn't really match the vibes of the song. It seems as if most of the creative direction was given to Da Corte and in the end, this makes for a very elegant video. While the imagery may not match the instruments there are many scenes relating to New York scattered across the video. A huge keyboard and bodegas can be seen throughout the video.

St. Vincent is scheduled to go on tour in early October but there is yet to be news about an album. Hopefully, a brand new beautiful new album will accompany the tour.

Happy Jamming!
